Oil cold-pressed from the seeds of the evening primrose, Oenothera biennis L., is traditionally used in the second half of the cycle and can be of considerable help to women who, every month, endure such unpleasant manifestations in their daily lives. A precursor of good prostaglandins, it promotes the balance of female hormones. The Omega-6 fatty acids (linoleic and gammalinolenic) naturally present in evening primrose oil can also help to counteract premature ageing of the skin and keep it healthy.
